Isekai Ryoko no Techo/Another World’s Travel Diary

Overview

PR Production is a fairly new name in the girlpla scene, being one of the many Chinese companies to get in on the trend in the 2020s. After putting out a mildly successful girlpla with PROJECT Kari Sazanami in 2023 with a more “traditional” girlpla aesthetic, they did a hard pivot away from the mecha musume market to instead tap into the fantasy market that lines like Arcanadea, DarkAdvent and 30 Minutes Fantasy have recently gone into.

However, while Arcanadea and DarkAdvent choose to go with more fanservice-y aesthetics, and 30 Minutes Fantasy corners the heavily armored knight aesthetic, Isekai Ryoko no Techo (tl. Another World’s Travel Diary, sometimes translated as Another World’s Travel Notes) goes for a cutesy, super-deformed aesthetic, with Renee Brown (the warrior), Mars Stoker (the mage) and Hayley Smith (the blacksmith) dropping throughout late 2025 and early 2026. The kit also has a set of variants, with Renee receiving a Chinese New Years’ variant sometime in July 2026 and Mars receiving a pink variant in June 2026.

Construction and Engineering:

These kits are fairly simple in their construction, and are of middling quality; while not spectacular, you won’t suffer too much building one. The only point of contention would be the head; the head’s weight can be quite stressful on the relatively small ball joint, so do take care when posing the head or sanding the ball joint to ensure maximal rotation range; however, this appears to only be an issue with Renee, as the kits after her have fixed this issue.

However, that aside, these kits are a decent experience with good quality and surprising articulation for something of this aesthetic and relative size, so they’re ultimately not bad.

Aesthetics:

Aesthetics are where Isekai Ryoko no Techo stand out from the pack, with a super-deformed aesthetic found only in Desktop Army and HoiHoi-san. With a very cutesy, adorable vibe, these kits are very cozy and a nice breath of fresh air for people more accustomed to the edgy and fanservice-laden designs most other girlpla lines go for.

Ease of Acquisition:

These kits are surprisingly cheap, retailing usually around the ¥2500 (£12/$16) mark for the main kits, only exceeding them for the variant kits. The option parts can be as cheap as ¥500 (£2/$3). AmiAmi, HLJ and every usual haunt will have them, and they’re readily available for order.

Personal Verdict?

We like where PR Production is going with Isekai Ryoko no Techo, with its uniquely cutesy fantasy aesthetic that almost nobody else is going for while being very affordable on the wallet and we very much recommend people buy them, build ‘em and keep this line going.

Personal Recommendations:

Renee is our personal favorite, but if you’re into this sort of aesthetic, you can’t go wrong with any of them or their variants.
