Overview
Orange Cat Industry is a Chinese manufacturer most known for releasing an assortment of kits, including mecha, vehicles and guns. They also have a working arrangement with Wave Corporation in Japan to import and produce some models; aside from their Artery Gear Feidy kit, they also collaborated with Wave to produce a generic catgirl model kit labeled “Felis”, releasing in 2019. A 5th anniversary version was released in 2024 with a different color scheme.
Construction and Engineering
Plastic quality-wise, Felis is not a spectacular kit, but nothing to complain about, either. Engineering-wise, it’s nothing special; reasonable articulation, no particularly unhinged or impressive tricks being employed. Difficulty-wise, nothing flashy; perhaps a bit more difficult than the average Sister, but nothing that will give you more than a minute’s pause at best.
Aesthetics:
“Multi-purpose” sums up what Felis can really do. On her own, she’s not particularly impressive, probably more likened to Frame Arms Girl’s Innocentia or Materia or the simpler, earlier Sisters kits, if a bit of a step down in quality.
A modeler will probably like to modify her with other parts, dress her up or something else to customize her. Fittingly, she comes with several diverse accessories; a knife, a sniper rifle and a frying pan. The 5th anniversary version also comes with a translucent pink P90.
Ease of Acquisition:
We’re not quite sure if this kit is being actively produced, but it floats around AliExpress and similar sites for anywhere from £15-30 ($25-50). Felis is not a common kit, however, so do not be surprised if she isn’t available on demand.
Personal Verdict?
A very simple and compact model kit, Felis is not a must-have, but she’s certainly cute. If you can get her for cheap, she will be well worth the price.
