Overview
Lord in Heaven, this kit was hilarious.
Now, normally, we don’t cover Gunpla in this guide, leaving those to people who are more devoted to that because there are already so many Gunpla-related resources. However, after finding out that this kit existed, and seeing exactly what they did to make it a bootleg, we had to build it and write about it.
The Nobel Gundam hails from G Gundam, which is one of the best Gundam shows in our unbiased and objective opinion. Released in 1994, G Gundam is about participants of the Gundam Fight, a fight held to determine the ruler of the Earth between the remaining nations of the world; the Nobel Gundam belongs to Allenby, representative of Neo Sweden. Bandai, naturally, released model kits of the Nobel, both in its default form and its Berserker Mode, both released in 2011 and reprinted consistently since.
Now, Gunpla has a pretty long tradition of being bootlegged, the ethics and specifics of which we won’t get into here. Feida Model, a company which we unfortunately know very little about except their efforts in bootlegging Gunpla because we can’t even find them, created their own bootlegs of the Nobel, both of its default form and Berserker Mode, which share engineering (and so can be taken to be a review of both) with both each other and the original HGs, releasing these bootlegs in 2025.
And then they stuffed a pair of breasts on it, which is my only justification for claiming this for the girlpla throne and not just leaving it to significantly smarter and more devoted writers.
Construction and Engineering
Okay, the engineering isn’t terrible. Ripping Bandai off directly tends to do that for you; as Kotobukiya is for girlpla, so Bandai is for mecha. The main issue is that the blades of the Nobel’s swords are too big to fit their handles, necessitating the use of a drill or other tool to open the holes.
However, the unfortunate fact is that the plastic quality lets this thing down so, so much, especially in comparison to the originals (especially the originals that have been reprinted recently). The plastic quality affects tolerances and articulation; without either some rubber or super glue to solidify joints and a LOT of filing, you’re going to struggle to get parts in and to get them to swing properly.
Aesthetics:
It’s a Nobel Gundam with tits.
This was, by far, the only reason we bought this thing as we already have a genuine Nobel Gundam. However, the chest piece looks so, so out of place on the otherwise unaltered Nobel that it wraps around from horny to just absolutely hilarious. The cheap plastic used to create these things also takes away from the aesthetic, unfortunately, and the stickers it comes with are absolutely terrible.
Ease of Acquisition:
With prices southward of £12 ($16) on AliExpress, it is one of the single easiest (and cheapest) kits we’ve ever covered in this guide. For obvious reasons, you’re not finding these in a Japanese store. The saving grace, at least, is that this thing will probably be available while waiting for reprints of the Nobel. We were thankful that this was not an insanely pricey acquisition.
Personal Verdict?
While a lot of bootlegs are usually of Mobile Suits or other mecha that Bandai for some reason has refused to make, are more detailed than the original or are more available than the original, the Nobel has had a genuine counterpart out for nearly twenty years for a price point of ¥1500 (roughly £7/ $9) with way better detail and significantly higher quality. Please just buy the real one unless you want the novelty of having a Nobel with human breasts on your shelf, it’ll be way better quality and thus value.
