Overview
Known for their traditional and sci-fi mecha model kits, Hasegawa is not usually a name you hear in the girlpla conversation. While they have wafted in the general direction of girlpla before (see the Virtual-On article for details), they haven’t done it this quite deeply.
Following fellow Japanese traditional model kit giant Aoshima in playing around with snap fit model kits, Hasegawa announced their Artificial Spirit Genesis toyline in 2025. With an initial slated release month of December 2025, the first two girls, EMO-X0024 Ciel and EMO-X0022 Aria are slated to drop in June 2026.
Their aesthetic resembles their brethren in Bandai’s 30 Minutes Sisters – fitting, for the girls of the line appear to be similar to the SISTERS as agents of the benevolent emotional AI SPIRAMENT against the forces of the order-focused AI ORDIS. Hasegawa advertised these kits with similar levels of modification and customisability as Sisters.
