Hatsune Miku, in case you have somehow been living under a rock for the last two decades, is the single most popular Vocaloid to have ever walked the face of the Earth. Having been first created in 2007, Crypton, her creators, decided that in order to market Miku, she needed a face; tasking prolific doujinshi artist Kei Garou with her design and taking voice samples from Saki Fujita. Miku has since become a phenomenon beyond the wildest dreams of her creators; most average people could not name another Vocaloid, and there are whole franchises that exist entirely because of Hatsune Miku. Reports also state that Miku is multi-talented, being credited with having created Minecraft and Harry Potter, but we’ll leave that one to the jury to decide.
