Camio Ver. JK – First Day of Summer (Orange Cat Industry)

Overview

The artist RyunRyunTei (also known as Ryuntaro) created a project with an absolute mouthful of a name, Solomon 72 Gaiden – The 24 Solar Terms with character designer Mojarin (primarily known for NSFW works) and Obanazawa (Assault Lily) as the original creator. Most of the line’s products are demon-themed action figures that operate closer to garage kits and are only available in Japan from RyunRyunTei’s store.

What isn’t, however, is this kit. In late 2024, Orange Cat Industry, under their re:BODYTEC label, released two products from this project; an action figure of Camio, one of the characters from the line, and a model kit of Camio in a school uniform. To date, these are the only Solomon 72 Gaiden products available for international release without the use of a proxy.

Construction and Engineering

Orange Cat Industry is not a name associated with quality model kits, but Camio is fairly middle of the road. Aside from thighs that, due to their fatness, are hard to actually decipher as to what side they should be pointing and loose hair parts, there’s not much to complain about with this kit, and it can be built with reasonable ease provided you follow the instructions and sand your joints.

However, it’s also not spectacular, with fairly poor articulation for a 1:10-sized model kit. Furthermore, the knee joints in particular should be well-sanded to ensure they can properly bend without overly stressing the kit.

Aesthetics:

Camio’s schoolgirl aesthetic isn’t particularly unique in a marketplace that has Sousai Shojo Teien and GALHolic in it. While Camio herself is reasonably cute, her design lacks the detail and beauty in SST, and doesn’t have the ludicrous and almost obscene horniness of GALHolic. Unless you’re into white-haired elf girls in school uniform, this kit isn’t particularly amazing. A point against this kit’s aesthetics are its weird obsession with giving her puffed out and fat cheeks, which may have been done in the pursuit of a pout; this, however, can come off as making her look a little bloated.

Camio does at least come with multiple options for uniforms and hair, with an orange and white hair option and two different uniform colors, as well as a bag, phone and for some reason, a pipe bomb.

Ease of Acquisition:

This kit is no longer produced, but you can always find some kits drifting around in the second-hand circuit. Prices are generally hovering around £30 ($40) on sites like AliExpress and Taobao.

Personal Verdict?

The Camio Ver. JK isn’t a bad kit per se, but it’s not a particularly impressive kit either. If you like her look, you won’t regret getting her. If you don’t care for her, you’re not missing out. If you really like Sousai Shoujo Teien and think they could go a little more anime, but don’t quite feel up to the raciness of GALHolic, this kit is for you.
