Overview
Artery Gear: Fusion was a gachage released in east Asian regions in 2021, and globally in 2022, developed by Access. Set on a post-apocalyptic Earth, the game revolved around the use of Artery Gears, cybernetically-enhanced humans, to fight the zombie-like Puppets. Being a relatively mid gacha, Artery Gear never achieved great success, though they did garner a few good collaborations, notably with Atelier Ryza, Puella Magi Madoka Magica and hilariously, Frame Arms Girl. However, even these collabs were not enough to save the game, and it eventually shut down in late 2024, though not without sustaining a last gasp through a collab event with Higan: Eruthyll in early 2025.
The franchise also survives in the form of model kits. As part of their working relationship with Wave, Orange Cat Industry would put out a model kit of Feidy from the game, releasing her in July of 2022 after a delay from its original release date in June of that year. It should be noted that despite the kit bearing Wave’s branding, it is an Orange Cat Industry kit, albeit one distributed under Wave in most regions. Furthermore, Good Smile would develop a model kit of Nio, released in 2024.
Construction and Engineering
Plastic-wise, though significantly better than most of Orange Cat Industry’s other entries in this guide, that is not to say Feidy is amazing. The plastic rings used to cover her thighs are prone to breakage if assembled as intended. Her tolerances in general are either too tight or too loose, necessitating constant testing and re-testing. This is on top of already being a fairly hefty kit to build. This is not a kit for beginners, and certainly not one you should tackle unless you’re prepared to put up with some shenanigans.
Aesthetics:
Aesthetics are where this kit really shines. If you persevere through Orange Cat Industry’s frankly eccentric-at-best design decisions, Feidy is an incredibly unique-looking kit on the shelf that nothing else quite matches, having Feidy’s own cuteness on top of the spider mech’s unique look on the shelf. Take good care of Feidy and she’ll make it worth your while.
Ease of Acquisition:
Like many kits in this section, Feidy is no longer being produced. Prices for her are relatively inconsistent. However, we got her for roughly £35 ($47), and she previously retailed for ¥6390 (£30/$40), so we feel that if you can get her for close to that price from a secondhand seller, it’ll be roughly what she’s worth.
Personal Verdict?
Feidy is not a kit for the weak and does have plentiful issues; however, unlike many of the kits here that we discuss that come with QC issues, Feidy is worth fighting through them for and very much worth her asking price.
