Overview
An original kit by Hemoxian released in late 2025 as part of a new line of kits Hemoxian is labeling Reverberation of Medta, the jiangshi Jiulian is, surprisingly, not the only jiangshi model kit to drop with chainsaws (hi, Gene Interference Zombie Armor), but she is, by far, the better one (sorry, Zombie Armor).
Construction and Engineering
Aside from the absolute nightmare that are her claws – sharp enough that they can actually draw blood if you’re not careful – this is once again an example of Hemoxian knocking it out of the park quality and build-wise. Coming with enough parts for two bodies is just the cherry on top. The only issue we encountered aside from the claws were that the batteries supplied and the circuitboard for lighting up her flail head were dead and non-functional respectively, but honestly given the rest of the kit is so quality, we’re willing to let that part slide.
Difficulty-wise, Jiulian is not the easiest kit in the world to build, so we recommend saving her for when you’ve built something a little harder than typical Bandai fare. For more experienced builders, she feels pretty close to the Nuke Matrix oeuvre, so save her for when you’re a little more confident.
Aesthetics:
While it’s a bit on the hornier side, Jiulian’s frankly absolutely awesome set of armaments (chainsaw legs, for one), and absolutely excellent aesthetic more than makes up for it. With a set of beautiful face plates, excellent gold detailing and even well-made cloth goods as part of the kit, Jiulian has more than just excellent build quality, but excellent design as well, assembling good and looking good on the shelf.
Ease of Acquisition:
The only real criticism of this kit we have is how hard it is to get your hands on her. Because she was so popular and Hemoxian not being a large company, it’s an absolute nightmare to get your hands on Jiulian. Be prepared to pay upwards of £50 ($68) to get her before shipping.
Personal Verdict?
One of the best one-off kits to have come out of 2025, Jiulian alongside her fellow kits in OVER ZERO shows off the best that Hemoxian has to offer, and is very much a highly recommended kit for any collector.
