Construction and Engineering
By far the easiest of the lot, 30 Minutes Missions is the go-to for building quick and easy mecha. If you’ve built even the 7-11 Strike Gundam (which is real, trust), Missions is going to be piss easy. As long as you have nippers, a file and a hobby knife, you can built a Missions kit.
Engineering-wise, it’s probably the least impressive of the Label kits. This is not a bad thing, per se; being derived from Bandai’s HG architecture, they are still about as poseable as the average action figure. However, don’t expect to see some of the tricks you see even in Fantasy; these are no-frills random goon model kits meant for heavy customisation.
Aesthetics:
These kits look bland on their own, with the possible exception of the Maxion mecha (Spinatia, Spinatio and Acerby, though the jury’s out on Levinix) and the Provedel models. This is intentional; you’re supposed to be tacking on Option Parts and building different parts onto them in order to customise these and build your own army.
More relevantly to this guide are the Maxion mecha. While very simple in appearance, Spinatia and Acerby are absolutely packed with character, especially accounting for the variants of each model, while Spinatio is very good for creating male-coded kitbashes. Good on their own or with extra spice, Maxion’s mecha are probably the most important for this line of model kits.
Ease of Acquisition
Missions are also the absolute cheapest of the 30 Minutes kits; most of the kits retail at ¥1200 (£6/$8), give or take 100 yen, an absolute steal in comparison to the Sisters and Fantasy kits. Only a few outliers, such as the Provedels, and Armored Core kits will cost more. Anywhere that stocks Bandai model kits is free game for Missions; they’ll usually be right next to the Gundam HGs.
Personal Verdict?
Really, we can’t recommend this in this guide because this is mostly mecha. Come on now. In relation to how this is with girlpla, the leading cause of workplace accidents is Sisters plundering their Missions counterparts for parts and leaving their limbless bodies rolling around like turds in the wind.
Personal Recommendations:
Acerby and Spinatia, whichever variant you please. Acerby in particular was a bit of a gateway kit for us, as she got us into Tiasha, which in turn got us into Sisters and the rest of girlpla.
