Overview
One of Bandai’s gashapon-only model kit series alongside Gashapon Quest and Aqua Shooters, Link Travelers focuses on a dystopian future ruled by machines, with the human resistance fighting alongside some sympathetic machines for their freedom.
Released in late 2025, the line has also featured a few oddities, with a fantasy-themed set replete with giant wolves and kemonomimi-esque figures, and a collaboration set with GquuuuuuX, with figures of protagonist Machu and her partner Nyaan, akin to Aqua Shooters doing the same thing with Suletta and Miorine from Witch from Mercury. (Though, honestly, they probably would’ve sold more of the GQX ones if they’d done Shiiko and Comoli. But then again, probably would’ve been better if they did literally any other Gundam but that one.)
Construction and Engineering
With similar construction and engineering to Gashapon Quest, the Link Travelers kits are very easy and very small toys to put together, which makes sense given their origin as gashapon toys. They’re very articulate for kits of their size, too.
Aesthetics
With a surprisingly traditional sci-fi aesthetic, these kits stand out despite their size with a variety of designs from more techwear-based figures resembling that of Arknights to more militaristic kits resembling that of Kotobukiya’s Hexa Gear. Of course, this isn’t getting into the weird fantasy set that Link Travelers decided to dabble in, almost as a bit of a epilogue to Gashapon Quest.
Ease of Acquisition:
If you don’t live somewhere where the gashapon machines for this exist, you can buy full sets of these from online retailers for about ¥6000 (roughly £27/ $44) at the moment. However, I’d advise some haste; you never know when Bandai will decide to end producing this one in lieu of their next toyline.
